Electric Vehicles Battery Testing
EV, PHEV, FCEV Battery Test Solutions
NH Research(NHR) provides electric vehicle (EV) battery test equipment and software, for testing battery modules/packs and fuel cells. NHR’s 9200/9300 Battery Pack Test Systems enable scalable power and flexible configurations for rigorous life-cycle drive-cycle and performance testing.
Electrification requirements for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), are evolving with higher power demands. Voltage and power levels are transitioning from a traditional 300/400VDC to 800/1000VDC. Higher voltages permit faster charging and increase power transfer while reducing vehicle weight. These factors are driving development for higher performing batteries, drive-trains, power converters, inverters and faster chargers.
NHR’s Battery Test Systems provide the flexibility to address today’s higher voltage levels, and modularity to expand for future requirements. NHR’s 9300 High Voltage Battery Test System has a dual power range that covers both lower (up to 600 V) and higher power (up to 1200 V) applications using a single product. This modular system can be scaled up to 2.4 MW in 100 kW building blocks, offering a wide operating envelope. Alternatively, NHR’s 9200 Battery Test System has a multi-channel capability (up to 21 channels) with the capability to mix and match voltage and current levels at lower power ranges.
“The NHR 9200 battery test systems are flexible, reliable and cost effective. The ability to configure single 9200s, or multiple 9200s, for either multiple low power channels or a single high power channel gives us greater flexibility and efficiency in our test scheduling.”

Battery Test Systems & DC Electronic Loads
Electric Vehicles Battery Test Equipment
NHR’s battery test systems are regenerative, bi-directional DC sources. The 9300 High Voltage Battery Test System has a dual power range that covers both lower (up to 600 V) and higher power (up to 1200 V) applications using a single product. This modular system can be scaled up to 2.4 MW in 100 kW building blocks. The 9200 Series Battery Test System has voltages of 40, 120 or 600V, capable of charge/discharge and cycle testing of 10 – 250kW module and pack-level batteries.
The High-Current DC Electronic Load (120V) 4700 Series and High-Voltage DC Electronic Load (600V) 4760 Series air-cooled dc loads can be used in applications where discharge only is needed. These loads can be controlled either through LabVIEW or NHR’s Enerchron® Test Manager.
